Fashionable Friday – The Belated

My first Fashionable Friday post talked about the outfit I was putting together to accompany Megan (my housemate and best friend) and her Mum into Newcastle city centre to get their hairs chopped.  I hadn’t been feeling all that great in the week running up to going out with them so getting myself all dressed up to have a wander felt like a good thing to be doing.

As I mused in that last post, I didn’t know if I was going to stay with Megan and her Mum and move onto the Metrocentre for shopping or not…I ended up doing so and had a brilliant day.

I thought I would take this opportunity to share with you some pictures from the day.

We ended up grabbing some lunch from Gourmet Burger Company….I’d never eaten there before but wow, the food was yummy.  Here are Megan and her Mum, Jane…oh and me! in the restaurant…

I told myself I wasn’t going to spend any money, but I ended up buying a pair of pink 3/4 leggings from Yours…they were just a perfect fit for my dress; much better than the ones I initially had on!  And since they were in the 2 for £12 deal and Megan had found a pair that she wanted too, they only cost me £6.  Bargain!

I was really happy with my look on this day, and it gave me more confidence in a dress that honestly, I was starting to have second thoughts about.  And the leggings?  Well, I’ve been wanting a pair of nice brightly coloured ones for a while, and they have quickly became a staple of my wardrobe!  In particular, I loved the below look, which is basically an all Yours Clothing affair as the long length sheer blouse came from Yours as well!

Til next time

My first (Not-So) Fashionable Friday — June 26, 2015

My first (Not-So) Fashionable Friday

This week, I am really trying to get back into the swing of blogging again.  Unfortunately for the topic of today’s post – Fashionable Friday – I don’t really have a great deal to say.

This week has not been the best in the life of me; I’ve been suffering from quite acute tiredness, and then yesterday I woke up with a pretty nasty migraine.  Today I have felt a little bit better, but still not 100%.

As a result, I don’t have anything to really share outfit wise.  If you follow me on Instagram, I have posed a couple of picture there across the week, but yesterday and today I have pretty much just thrown on the first thing I’ve come to.  No real thought or effort!

Tomorrow however will be different.  Megan (of My Spoonie Life) is going into Newcastle with her Mum to get her hair chopped tomorrow and I’m tagging along for the ride.  I was then going to go to Newcastle Gamers to get my geek on, but Michael has been told today that he likely has the mumps, and has been ordered to get a few days of rest.  So I’m not sure what to do; I might still go, I might come home afterwards, or tag along with Megan to go shopping at the Metro Centre. Time shall tell.

Wishful Wednesday #1 – Featuring Yours Clothing — February 18, 2015

Wishful Wednesday #1 – Featuring Yours Clothing

I’ve been into the Yours Clothing store in the Metrocentre here in Geordieland a few times, but the only thing I’ve ever actually bought were some leggings, and they put me off buying anything more.

I have very thick thighs and to be honest, it can make buying trousers of any description from anywhere quite hard. I generally get my leggings from Simply Be; their size 26 is normally plenty generous for even my thighs.

I didn’t find the same at Yours. The one pair of leggings I did buy from there were a gorgeous teal colour (which is what attracted me; I wanted some colourful leggings but SB just didn’t have anything that appealed), but the fabric was thinner than I was used to from SB, and the fit was much smaller. A size 28 was too tight on my legs. I think, if memory serves, I opted for a 30, but even then, I had to constantly hike them up throughout the day; they just didn’t want to stay up over my ample behind. I could only wear them with longer dresses for that reason.

So, like I said, it put me off trying anything else they had to offer. Which was wrong of me. Knowing I always have trouble with anything for my lower half no matter the outlet, I regret being so quick to judge them based off one experience.

So, for my first Wishful Wednesday, I decided to have a look at the Yours website. As I tend to do, I found myself making a beeline for the dresses.
